Резиме: Овај рад има за циљ да понуди нова читања Данојлићевих дела Тајна кокошке Лепосаве и Балада о сиромаштву. Иако је Данојлић континуирано присутан последњих шест деценија у српској књижевности и премда је његов опус сачињен од најразличитијих књижевних дела и намењен широком узрасном распону читалаца, занимљиво је да га у програмима виших разреда основне школе, па и средње школе – нема. Та је околност несхватљива стога што је кључна тема унутар његове лирске прозе у вези са феноменом тегобног одрастања и узглобљавања младог човека у социјални контекст, са свим траумама које такав иницијацијски процес подразумева. Ауторова намера је да овим делима нагласи интелектуалне и духовне развојне линије младог човека, који ће проћи многе успоне и падове у васпитању и образовању своје личности. У алегоријској слици света приче Тајна кокошке Лепосаве, као и у роману Балада о сиромаштву, потврђује се нови концепт традиционалног романа о образовању у коме се „духовни развој јунака приказује путем учења и животног искуства, и прати од детињства до доба кад његова личност достигне одређену способност да испуњава моралне захтеве према себи и друштву.“ Као таква, ова проза се може сматрати драгоценим прилогом унутар школског система, нарочито уколико имамо на уму сензибилитет модерних генерација.

Summary: The aim of this paper is to offer new readings of Danojlić’s works The Secret of Leposava the Hen and The Ballade of Poverty. Despite the fact that Danojlić has been present in the last six decades of the Serbian literature, that his opus comprises various literary forms, and his readership includes the readers of different age groups, it is interesting that this author is not included in the curricula for both the higher primary school grades of elementary school and the high school curricula. The latter fact is beyond comprehension, given that the central theme of his lyrical prose is the phenomenon of difficult growing up of young people and the process of finding their place in the social context, along with all traumas that this rite of initiation involves. The author’s intention was to emphasise in his works the intellectual and spiritual development of young people who are bound to go through many ups and downs in the process of building up their personality. The allegorical images of the world presented in the story The Secret of Leposava the Hen and in the novel The Ballade of Poverty confirm the new concept of the traditional novel on education which “presents the spiritual development of the main characters through learning and life experience, from childhood until the age when their personality is capable of fulfilling moral obligations towards themselves and the society”. This prose is a valuable contribution to the school system, especially with regard to the sensibility of modern generations.
